Is the referral fee charged on shipping?
No. Unlike Etsy and eBay, TikTok Shop calculates the referral fee on the item price rather than the full order total, which makes low-value orders slightly less punishing.
How much should I budget for creator affiliates?
Open-plan commissions commonly run 5–20% of the item price, paid only on sales a creator drives. Budget it separately from the referral fee or your margin math will be wrong.
